How private is The Emerald ?

At The Emerald, privacy is our top priority. Located discreetly within the five-star La Colombe d’Or Hotel in Houston, we offer a recovery experience designed for complete discretion and comfort. Each guest enjoys a private hotel room and en-suite bathroom — you will never be asked to share space with another client.

All staff members, including hotel personnel, strictly adhere to HIPAA and NDA protocols to safeguard your confidentiality. Your booking is handled exclusively through us, meaning your identity is not disclosed to the hotel, and there is no need to check in at the front desk upon arrival. Instead, private entrances are used, especially after surgery, to ensure your recovery remains entirely discreet.

For high-profile clients or those requesting additional privacy, we are happy to accommodate enhanced security and seclusion measures upon request.

What do I need to bring?

We are all- inclusive and will provide all medical supplies needed for your recovery. Our experts have thought about every detail. All you will need to bring are comfortable clothes and your favorite toiletries/makeup.

Are you dog friendly?

Yes! Both The Emerald and La Colombe d’Or love pups and believe they can be an important part of your recovery! The hotel has a gated park that dog’s are welcome to play in. Dog walkers can also be scheduled. There is a $250 pet deposit. At this time, other animals are not permitted.

Can I bring my spouse or friend?

Absolutely — you’re welcome to bring a friend, family member, or even your children to stay with you during your recovery at The Emerald. We understand how important it is to feel supported, and we’re happy to accommodate your loved ones.

Thanks to our partnership with La Colombe d’Or, we’re able to offer exclusive rates on additional rooms should you need extra space. Please note that while your all-inclusive package covers your personal meals and care, food and beverage for any additional guests — including room service — will be billed separately and added to your final invoice.

Can men or transgendered patients be clients at The Emerald?

Absolutely. Because our patients do not share rooms, we are able to take care of anyone, including transgender patients. Everyone is cared for equally.

Will I just be sitting in my hotel room the whole time?

Not at all. While your private room is thoughtfully stocked with books, puzzles, and crafts to keep you engaged, we understand the importance of movement and a change of scenery in the healing process. Our nurses gently encourage light activity to support circulation, reduce the risk of blood clots, and boost your overall well-being.

Thanks to our exclusive setting within La Colombe d’Or, you’ll have access to beautifully designed spaces that offer both tranquility and the option to socialize — at your comfort level. Enjoy the private gated park, rooftop pool, elegant indoor and outdoor lounges, a sophisticated library, a restaurant and bar, and a social lounge with a large-screen LED TV and table games. Many of these areas can be reserved for added privacy.

As part of your stay, you'll also receive complimentary tickets to the nearby Modern Art Museum, with transportation arranged upon request. And if you'd like to connect with other Emerald clients, we’re happy to facilitate relaxed group meetups within the hotel.

How often will I be cared for by a nurse?

The level of nursing support you'll need depends on the type of procedure you’ve had and your personal preferences for assistance. For example, tummy tuck patients typically benefit from around-the-clock nursing care for the first 3–4 days, followed by 2–3 daily visits from a registered nurse as they continue to recover.

Regardless of the procedure, all clients have 24/7 access to their nurse via text or phone between scheduled visits, ensuring you’re fully supported whenever you need it.

What’s the difference between The Emerald and just booking a room myself?

The Emerald is a private, exclusive partnership with La Colombe d’Or Hotel, and our specialized services are only available to clients who book directly through The Emerald. This includes access to our licensed nursing team, customized recovery menu, medical equipment such as SCD machines and monitoring devices, and personalized care designed specifically for post-operative recovery.

Our rooms have been thoughtfully adapted to meet the unique needs of our clients — something not available through standard hotel bookings. By coordinating everything on your behalf, we eliminate the stress of arranging accommodations, nursing care, and equipment separately. Additionally, our partnership allows us to offer more favorable pricing than booking these services individually.

What type of transportation is included.

The Emerald will handle all of your transportation needs from picking you up at the airport, and taking you to and from your surgery and pre and post op appointments. Additional transportation to other medical appointments or outings can be arranged.

What airport do you pick up from?

While William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) is the closest airport to La Colombe d’Or , we pick up from George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), and West Houston Airport (IWS) for those flying private.
